Advocate Aurora Health is in search of a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our team.
Position Overview:
- Specialty: Surgical Technologist

- Work Schedule: 36 hours per week, evening shifts
This role involves full-time positions with options for either 8-hour shifts from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM or 9-hour shifts from 1:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with one day off each week. There is a call requirement of 1-2 nights per week, along with every 3-6 weekends and 1-2 holidays annually.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including Sign-On Bonuses of up to $12,000 based on experience and weekly hours. Join a dynamic team of professionals and enhance your skills.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of preparatory and scrubbing tasks essential for patient care in the operating room.
- Assist in surgical procedures across various specialties.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) must be obtained within 6 months unless exempted by the department leader.
- Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.
- Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical equipment.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Commitment to maintaining annual educational requirements for hospital-based certifications.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
- Physical capabilities include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling as necessary for the role.
- Exposure to various hazards in the operating room is expected.
