Job Title: Data Storage Administrator for Federal Clients
Work Location: On-Site (Ft. Liberty, NC)
Clearance: Must have verifiable DoD Secret Clearance
Certifications: Must have verifiable IAT Level II
Client: Federal
Primary Responsibilities:
- Storage Administration: Manage, monitor, and maintain storage systems to ensure optimal performance and availability, focusing on maintaining compliance with DoD standards.
- vSphere & Storage Integration: Ensure proper interaction between storage systems and VMware vSphere environments to support efficient virtualization and data management.
- STIG Implementation & Compliance: Apply and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure storage systems meet DoD security requirements.
- Storage Provisioning & Monitoring: Configure, provision, and monitor storage resources, ensuring performance, capacity, and data protection meet organizational needs.
- Basic Network Understanding: Collaborate with network administrators to ensure the seamless integration of storage with the organization's network infrastructure.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for storage systems, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve storage-related issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring high availability of data.
- Security & Access Controls: Implement and monitor access control measures, ensuring the security of storage resources and adherence to DoD cybersecurity standards.
- Documentation & SOPs: Create and maintain accurate documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for storage management and compliance processes.
- Storage Optimization & Upgrades: Participate in the planning and execution of storage system upgrades and optimizations to ensure systems remain secure, scalable, and high-performing.
- Collaboration with Vendors: Coordinate with vendors, including HPE (3PAR), for maintenance, support, and hardware/software upgrades when applicable.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- DoD Environment Experience: Familiarity with storage management in a DoD environment, including adherence to security policies and protocols.
- vSphere Knowledge: Basic understanding of how storage systems interact with VMware vSphere environments.
- STIG Compliance: Proven experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and maintaining compliance with DoD security standards.
- Basic Networking Skills: Foundational knowledge of networking concepts, particularly how storage integrates with network environments.
- Backup & Recovery Solutions: Experience implementing and managing data backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, especially in resolving storage-related issues and optimizing performance.
- HPE 3PAR Knowledge: Familiarity with HPE 3PAR storage systems is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), HPE 3PAR Certified, CompTIA Security+, or similar (preferred).
- Familiarity with DoD security policies and standards (STIG compliance).
Compensation: The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
