We are seeking a Photonic Integrated Circuits Characterization Manager. The primary responsibility will be to conduct testing and characterization for Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) in a research and development laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing and characterization of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) in an R&D laboratory environment.
  • Design experiments (DoE) for sample testing and configure opto-mechanical setups.
  • Contribute to the development of automated assembly and testing protocols to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide insights for improving PIC designs for better assembly and performance.
  • Document assembly processes and testing outcomes, contributing to technical report generation.
  • Engage in various research domains and cutting-edge projects focused on Photonic Integrated Circuits and their underlying technologies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • MSc or PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on Photonics.
  • Hands-on experience (over 1 year) in PIC assembly, fiber-optic alignment, and utilizing optomechanical components for micro-positioning.
  • Knowledge of current trends in the Photonic Integrated Circuit industry and familiarity with technology platforms such as SOI, SiN, PLC, InP, and hybrids.
  • Experience with advanced optoelectronic instrumentation and both fiber-coupled and free-space optical components.
  • Proficiency in optomechanical modeling and simulation software.
  • A curious and adventurous mindset towards exploring new R&D fields and embracing cutting-edge technologies.
  • Strong command of the English language.
