Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Seasonal Probe Operator, working under the limited guidance of the Laboratory Manager, will manage Test Stand operations throughout the grape crush season.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervise Test Stand operations during the grape crush season, including raw material reception, quality control inspection, quality control hold/release, quality control sampling, sugar analysis, data entry, and record maintenance.
  2. Collaborate with the Quality Control Laboratory Department, Grower Relations Department, Production Department, State Representative, Weighmaster, and Grower representative to ensure smooth operations.
  3. Operate the sampling probe, implement proper sampling techniques, and maintain sanitation of the test stand.
  4. Manage the flow of grape truck traffic to ensure that receiving and releasing processes are organized, efficient, and timely, in alignment with plant operations as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty effectively. The following requirements are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for success. Candidates should be prepared to work various shifts and/or weekends as required. Attention to detail, self-motivation, and conscientiousness are essential. Basic computer skills, data entry, and typing proficiency are advantageous. This is a full-time position that necessitates excellent attendance and punctuality.

Education and Experience:
A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Proficiency in writing and speaking effectively is essential. Candidates must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to compute figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Capability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Additional Requirements:
Attention to detail is crucial. A valid California Driver's license with a clean DMV record is mandatory.
