We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team on the PM shift, working from 6pm to 6am.
The Quality Assurance Specialist is tasked with conducting both quantitative and qualitative assessments on samples generated by our production lines. This role is crucial in ensuring that quality and product performance issues are effectively communicated to both Production and Quality teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute necessary quality assessments and inspections as outlined in the Quality Control Plan within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
- Assess finished products, meticulously document results, and input checks into the quality management database.
- Swiftly and accurately relay any quality and product performance concerns to production and quality personnel.
- Elevate significant or unresolved quality and product performance challenges to management.
- Ensure identification of non-conforming products, complete associated traceback activities and reports, and quarantine as needed in the Material Review Board (MRB) and physically in the Quality Control lanes.
- Validate the initiation of a Work Order and finalize the Sign-off documentation.
- Confirm Hot Stamp and Print Standards and maintain samples.
- Conduct Layout inspections for each TWD and/or designated HWD lines once per shift, completing the Layout Report.
· Achieve the standard average processing time for sample testing.
· Contribute to Scrap reduction efforts.
· Continuously monitor the Sample Dashboard to ensure adherence to Sample Attainment Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (%Resolution coils tested).
· Complete all relevant tests for every Dynamic System's sample (manual or automatic) to comply with Dynamic Sample Attainment KPIs (%Dynamic tested).
· Finalize the Shift Report in the MES Quality Database before the end of the shift.
· Rotate between HWD and TWD every four hours (or vice versa).
· Capable of covering all lines pertinent to the Quality Control Station (TWD or HWD).
· Adhere to all Quality Control Procedures.
· Complete recertification as per the frequency established in the relevant Skills matrix.
· Engage in 5S activities according to the set frequency and/or as required.
· Responsible for providing coverage for colleagues during lunch/breaks and/or vacations.
· Ensure that quality testing procedures do not impede production.
· Assist in the training of Shift Crew Backups and/or new hires within the department.
· Play a role in maintaining On-Time Delivery to customers.
- Additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in Quality Control within a production setting is preferred but not mandatory.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Proficient written and verbal communication skills are essential.
SKILLS
Basic mathematical abilities, interpersonal skills, and fundamental computer proficiency (email, word processing) are required.
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
Safety-oriented, self-driven with a strong desire to excel, capable of accurately following written instructions, and a strong communicator.
Focused on LEAN and Operational Excellence, able to work independently with minimal supervision, a team player with positive interpersonal skills, high visual awareness, and advanced organizational capabilities.
Ability to analyze, draw practical conclusions, communicate, and interpret technical MES data effectively, along with the tact and discretion to relay non-conformance observations to production team members.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and endure prolonged standing.
COMPENSATION
Competitive hourly wage between $16-$17.
