Position Overview

Fidelity TalentSource is the internal staffing solution for Fidelity Investments, a leading global financial services firm. We are currently seeking a Scrum Master to support our Workplace Investing (WI) business unit.

Role Responsibilities

As a Scrum Master, you will combine your extensive knowledge of Scrum with a commitment to mentoring and enhancing team performance. You will work within a collaborative squad to guide, mentor, and coach team members on agile values, practices, and processes, thereby accelerating the delivery of squad value. In collaboration with the squad leader, you will oversee the backlog, assist in removing obstacles, and facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. You will also be responsible for coordinating release management and participating in scaling ceremonies to manage interdependencies across squads and product areas. Your role will involve analyzing team performance through metrics and identifying opportunities for the squad to maximize the benefits of an agile framework. You will engage with all team members and product area leadership to reinforce and integrate agile principles into daily operations. This position often entails coordinating efforts across multiple systems teams to deliver a cohesive solution to our clients.

  • Collaborating effectively with Workplace Investing product partners and chapter leaders to achieve the squad's objectives through well-executed sprints.
  • Enhancing overall squad performance, efficiency, and value delivery by engaging within and across squads to identify opportunities for improving agile maturity and metrics, while providing coaching, training, and resources.
  • Maintaining and updating squad performance metrics (e.g., burn-down charts) and artifacts to ensure accurate feedback to squad members and transparency to other stakeholders.
  • Managing and facilitating agile events (e.g., backlog prioritization, sprint planning, daily meetings, retrospectives, and scrum of scrum masters as needed).
  • Supporting the adoption and consistent use of enabling tools (e.g., Jira, Mural, MS Teams).
  • Organizing and presenting ideas and information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Working closely with the squad leader to prioritize and execute on critical tasks aligned with the product roadmap.
  • Managing multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Coaching and mentoring complex squads, regardless of their size.
  • Participating in a community of practice to share scrum knowledge and identify continuous improvement opportunities within the product area.


Required Skills and Expertise
  • You are a proven change agent, adept at coaching agile practices to teams and individuals from various functions and backgrounds as they navigate new challenges.
  • You possess strong facilitation skills and can collaborate with the team to brainstorm solutions that address challenges and roadblocks to enhance value delivery.
  • You demonstrate intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for acquiring new skills, fostering a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.

You will support one or more cross-functional WI Technology squads while being aligned with the WI Scrum Master Chapter.
