Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team at Lisle Park District. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial transactions, reports, and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconcile and prepare journal entries for River Bend Golf Club's reservation system and Civic Rec daily transactions.
  • Prepare and file federal and state quarterly 941's, Illinois Department of Employment Security monthly and quarterly and yearly W-2's.
  • Compile and file PDMRA annual wage report.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements reports for Board of Park Commissioners' review.
  • Reconcile sales revenue reports to the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly sales tax returns.
  • Record cash receipts and post journal entries into the Park District's finance software.
  • Reconcile the pro shop inventory count.
  • Monthly reconciliation of gift cards.
  • Maintain internal audit controls.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll and compile and reconcile employee tip income.
  • Verify timecards for accuracy and submit payroll taxes online.
  • Act as liaison between River Bend Golf Club and Finance department regarding financials and payroll.
  • Summarize month end financial data for management staff at River Bend.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college with coursework in accounting, business administration, or related field.
  • A minimum of three years related work experience.
  • Proficient with keyboard/typing skills and proficient use of applicable software in PC operating system: Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Valid drivers license.
