  • Patient Communication: Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers to schedule surgeries, pre-operative appointments, and necessary tests.
  • Insurance Verification: Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Pre-Authorization: Coordinate with insurance providers to obtain pre-authorization for surgical procedures and ensure proper billing processes.
  • Patient Preparation: Provide patients with clear instructions regarding pre-operative preparation, including dietary restrictions, medication guidelines, and transportation arrangements.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with surgical team members, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers, to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including answering phones, filing paperwork, and managing electronic medical records.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in healthcare scheduling and medical assisting, preferably in an orthopedic or surgical setting.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic medical records systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures preferred.
