Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Surgery Technologist Service Coordinator to join our team at Marshall Health Network. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating service specialty lines in the Operating Room, ensuring seamless case flow, and collaborating with surgeons, staff members, vendors, and other departments to meet case needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate case flow and maintain preference cards
  • Order supplies and review schedules to ensure availability of equipment and supplies
  • Collaborate with OR Sterile and OR Supply departments to verify availability of equipment and supplies
  • Act as a mentor to Perioperative Services staff, educating and training them on equipment, supplies, and processes related to each service specialty line
  • Develop policies for new procedures, select new equipment, and create and implement relevant changes to service lines
  • Identify and resolve service line issues
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure case needs are met and adhere to hospital Vendor policy
  • Lead LEAN improvement processes and serve as a role model for behaviors, attitude, and actions
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Junior College/Technical School
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Graduated from approved surgical technician program
  • NBSTSA certification
  • AHA CPR/BLS
  • 1-2 years of experience as a certified surgery tech, with understanding of surgical process flow throughout Perioperative Services
Preferred Qualifications
  • Up to 1 year of Service Coordinator experience
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures and ability to be a resource for other OR employees
  • Positive and effective communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and troubleshoot
  • Proficiency in preference card process and responsibilities
  • Proficiency in assessing par levels and ordering of supplies for service line
