About the Role

Mechanical Project Engineer

PCL Construction, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in managing contract progress, reporting, and change management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and surveys to manage contract progress and reporting.
  • Maintain contracts with complex subcontracted scopes and administer subcontract administration.
  • Review and understand broader contract obligations and assist site managers in project start-up activities.
  • Participate in reviews of subcontractors' submittals for compliance with scope and design documentation.
  • Assist with site inspections and witness systems commissioning.
  • Identify potential risks on project scopes and/or the project.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–6 years of construction experience in an operational role.
  • Detailed knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, project health, safety, and environment (HSE), quality, building materials, and required standards.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering/problem-solving principles to construction challenges.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize own work, and direct-report tasks.
  • Able to create and lead schedules on a comprehensive scale.
  • Ability to formulate subcontracts and administer subcontracts and contract documents.
  • Proven understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems with strong skills for embracing new technology.
