Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer I to join our team at BEUMER Group GmbH & Co. KG. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative material handling equipment used in airport baggage handling systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to assist engineers in creating 3D models and production equipment.
  • Conduct site surveys to ensure accurate 3D modeling.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to create equipment proposals, providing engineering and design expertise.
  • Evaluate manufacturing feasibility and estimate cost requirements for various material handling systems.
  • Design systems layout and specific components using 2D and 3D AutoCAD software.
  • Perform data entry functions to document engineering designs in our corporate database.
  • Support existing engineering processes and assist in developing new ones.
  • Prepare specifications for equipment purchase and work with procurement to release equipment for quotation and procurement.
  • Develop written specifications for training and operation.
  • Work with senior engineers to ensure designs are prepared for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Participate in conference calls and on-site meetings with clients as directed by your manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing and project engineering settings.
  • Preferred experience in designing automated machines and material handling capital equipment.
  • Proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD design programs, with Revit experience a plus.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Ability to analyze and design basic mechanical components.
  • Ability to specify mechanical components.
  • Good knowledge of drafting, dimensioning, tolerancing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional, positive, and energetic attitude.
  • Able to travel to project sites.
