Position Overview:
We are in search of a qualified Senior Structural Engineer II to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in overseeing structural design initiatives, particularly for federal projects, as well as aviation and commercial building designs.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will:
  • Lead the structural design process for a variety of projects, ranging from minor renovations to extensive multi-building developments.
  • Conduct comprehensive engineering design and development tasks, employing advanced techniques as necessary.
  • Prepare detailed construction documents, including structural drawings and specifications.
  • Perform structural calculations utilizing both manual methods and computer-aided engineering software.
  • Collaborate with various internal disciplines, such as architecture, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineering.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to requests for information, and conduct site visits to ensure project alignment.
  • Design complete systems, components, or processes, and generate project documentation, engineering analyses, and reports.
  • Execute quality control reviews to ensure project milestones are met and conduct field reviews to enhance understanding of construction practices.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex problems in a timely manner.
  • Maintain professional licensure and stay updated on relevant federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, managing small multidisciplinary teams as needed.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
  • Professional registration in engineering.
  • Experience in leading projects or providing technical oversight to junior engineers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • A strong understanding of building codes and structural design standards (e.g., ASCE 7, AISC, ACI).
  • Expertise in Revit and structural design software (e.g., ETABS, RAM, Enercalc).
  • The ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • U.S. citizenship or national status as required by clients.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with federal clients, including military and NASA projects, is highly desirable. Familiarity with Department of Defense Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) documents and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) is also advantageous.
