Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned engineering professional to fill the role of Senior Structural Engineer. This position presents a multitude of stimulating and complex challenges within the realm of structural engineering, offering a prime opportunity for career advancement. You will engage collaboratively with a team of structural engineers, interact with professionals from various engineering disciplines, and mentor junior project team members.

In this role, you will be involved in engineering projects related to the development of new nuclear facilities, as well as enhancements and modifications to existing nuclear power plants. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Applying your expertise in materials, structural analysis, and design of structural steel and reinforced concrete.
  • Collaborating as part of an engineering and design team on diverse projects for a variety of clients, including preparing and reviewing design calculations, developing specifications, and assisting designers with drawing creation.
  • Utilizing advanced computer tools to conduct structural analysis and design for steel frameworks, connections, concrete elements, equipment and piping supports, and foundations.
  • Performing structural analyses that account for various loading conditions, including wind and seismic factors.

There may be opportunities for travel to client and vendor locations for design evaluations and to construction sites for coordination and verification of designs.

Essential qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as part of a project team engaged in structural design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
  • Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
  • Competence in MS Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in the design and analysis of power plant or industrial structures.
  • On-site construction support experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license.
