We are seeking a highly skilled Content Designer to join our team at the City and County of San Francisco. As a Content Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience of our digital services and ensuring that our content is accessible, engaging, and effective.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement content strategies that meet user needs and business goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver high-quality content
  • Work with City departments to improve content and service delivery for San Franciscans
  • Partner with the product content team to develop the website and digital services
  • Contribute to the community of content professionals across the City
  • Run trainings and support for editors and stakeholders
  • Pave the way for others by taking part in the content community and working on content standards for the City

Requirements

  • An associate degree in business administration, public administration, information systems, economics, finance, computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
  • Two (2) years' experience in content strategy, content design, copywriting, editing or UX writing
  • Able to read and write Chinese (Traditional) fluently
  • Experience designing complex content to meet user needs
  • Experience managing website migrations
  • User research champion, able to help with and synthesize research
  • Understand how content is consumed by screen readers and other assistive technology
  • Write and validate user needs and user stories
  • Tell the difference between user needs and the desires of the user
  • Understand how government processes work
  • Measure and evaluate outcomes in content and services
