Position: Autonomy Systems Program Manager

The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) is at the forefront of enhancing the Department of Defense's capabilities by integrating cutting-edge commercial technologies. We are seeking a skilled individual with a strong background in innovative acquisition strategies to lead projects that transition advanced solutions to military applications.

The role of the Autonomy Program Manager involves:

  • Forming and guiding collaborative teams composed of both DoD personnel and commercial partners to effectively deliver tailored solutions.
  • Overseeing the development and execution of project solicitations while managing competitive selection processes in partnership with industry and government stakeholders.
  • Identifying critical challenges faced by the DoD that can be addressed through commercial autonomous technologies.
  • Collaborating with DoD entities to establish program objectives and implementation plans.
  • Maintaining essential relationships between DoD customers and commercial partners to ensure successful project outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Robust project management expertise and experience in the technical development of autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with cost, schedule, and performance planning, although formal defense acquisition certifications are not mandatory.
  • The ability to relocate to DIU within a specified timeframe after selection.

This position is designated for an Active Duty US Navy O4/LCDR.
