Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide high-quality outpatient medical care to patients in the Rio Grande Valley.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care services to patients in our outpatient clinic, including medical histories, physical exams, and treatment plans.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently in our electronic medical records system.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in daily clinic rotations, including triage and walk-in services.
  • Respond to phone calls and provide medical consultation services as needed.
  • Generate and coordinate referrals to specialist services as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including laboratory and radiology reports.
  • Collaborate with nursing and case management staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Supervise medical and PA/ANP students and resident doctors as assigned.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Unrestricted, active Texas State Board of Medical Examiners License.
  • Current immunization policy compliance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of medical education and teaching principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of documentation for medical office billing and coding terminology, methods, and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an outpatient setting.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
  • Knowledge of medical education and teaching principles and procedures.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team-based setting and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
