About the Role

Amazon Air Cargo is seeking an experienced Tech Business Development Manager to drive the adoption of its B2B Air Cargo offering. This is an exciting opportunity to drive exponential growth by building and scaling global partnerships.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of leading new market segment development efforts, working across stakeholder teams to develop strategic partnerships. They will also have a business background and subject matter expertise that enables them to drive specific engagement and interaction, as well as a technical understanding that enables them to easily interact with product developers for integration opportunities.

The candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus.

A track record of helping establish new business via focused incubation mechanisms and then broad partnerships will be important for this role.

The ideal candidate will have a keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness and consistently exceed key performance metrics.

They will be part builder, part operator, and part general manager who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus.

As a key team member in this fast-growing, exciting space, you will have the opportunity to help lead the early market segment development efforts for new services, establish wins with strategic partners, create new partnerships, and then as the business starts to formulate, help drive growth and shape the future of a service category that will have a significant impact on our customers' business.

Your responsibilities will include creating a comprehensive go-to-market strategy to help develop the partner strategy for Amazon Air's Air Cargo service.

Your role will include onboarding new partners, setting up clear communication channels, and providing partners with everything they need to be successful in working with Amazon Air.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with leaders to grow the business by creating new partnerships, leveraging existing relationships and/or business assets to drive improvements and innovation, and enable distribution of our products and/or services
  • Work on significant, new, and unique business opportunities
  • Regularly interact with executives at potential partners/clients
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage strategic partners and complex deals
  • Work with business leaders to analyze market data to identify trends/opportunities, utilize extensive network of relationships with the relevant industry to gather market intelligence, and execute on partner development opportunities
  • Contribute to the strategic development of features and functionality that maximize revenue and drive incremental margin from partner agreements
  • Sync often with other business/partner development organizations across Amazon to share information and drive consistency with partners that are often working with multiple BD teams at Amazon at the same time
  • Unlock partner opportunities for Amazon by leveraging strong internal network of business development and product counterparts on other teams
  • Work cross-functionally to identify, scope, and define end-to-end logistics and supply chain solutions via a pan-Amazon approach
  • Execute the strategic partner development plan while working with key internal stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements experience
  • 5+ years of professional or military experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • 5+ years business/partner development experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
  • Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
