Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Therapist - Foster Care and Adoption Specialist to join our team at Little City Foundation. As a key member of our In-Home and Family Services' Foster Care & Adoption and Home-Based Services programs, you will provide therapy and behavioral planning for children and some adults with developmental, behavioral, and/or emotional disabilities and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry a caseload of clients and families, focusing on individual, group, or family treatment.
  • Assess clients using Rule 132 Medicaid standards and complete the appropriate assessment authorizing services.
  • Develop treatment plans, per Rule 132 standards, and evaluate individuals' success in treatment.
  • Attend staffing's and meetings related to the child, coordinating interventions with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide consultation with program staff, biological parents, foster parents, and other service providers regarding children's therapeutic issues.
  • Document contact with clients, families, and agency staff according to Medicaid Part 132, agency, and DCFS standards.
  • Participate in individual and group clinical supervision, team and department meetings, and maintain clinical skills through training and research.
  • Provide training to families, staff, and other service providers, and offer on-call crisis intervention and support.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in a clinical field (i.e., psychology, social work, counseling) is required.
  • At least one year of experience conducting individual, group, and family therapy with children who have developmental, behavioral, and/or emotional challenges is necessary.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance are required for transporting children and traveling to homes within a 45-mile radius.
Work Environment

The physical demands of this job include sitting, walking, and standing for prolonged periods, frequently grasping, lifting, holding, or feeling objects, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and the ability to operate a motor vehicle. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
