Job Summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking a highly organized and professional individual to serve as a Foster Home Licensing Specialist. This role will be responsible for completing assessments to ensure that families meet DCFS licensing standards and are prepared to care for children.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to speak and write Spanish at a colloquial skill level.

This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about children and interested in playing a role in ensuring that foster homes provide a safe and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete assessments to ensure that families meet DCFS licensing standards
  • Provide support and strengthen Department relationships with foster parents
  • Assist families in resolving compliance issues
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work or a related human service field
  • One year of directly related professional casework/case management experience
  • Ability to speak and write Spanish at a colloquial skill level
Work Environment

This position will be based in Chicago and will require daily access to an automobile and proof of vehicle insurance.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have excellent time management skills.
