Educational Support Specialist - 6 hrs/day

Position Overview: This role is designed to provide essential instructional and behavioral support to educators within special education environments. The Educational Support Specialist will assist both individuals and small groups of students, fostering an enhanced learning experience. Responsibilities include aiding teachers in delivering instruction and managing classroom dynamics in both special education and general education settings, as well as during outdoor activities.

Work Schedule: 182 work days/year
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $25.18 per hour, with a structured salary scale based on experience (new hires capped at step 5).

Location: Twin Rivers Unified School District
Hours: 6 hours/day; 5 days/week
Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options available for employees working 4+ hours per day (full district contribution for those working 6+ hours/day; 50% contribution for those working fewer hours).

Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics. Candidates with at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment.

Licenses and Certifications: A valid driver's license may be required. Compliance with district skill and competency standards is necessary. A valid First Aid/CPR certification may also be required.

  • NCLB Compliance (48 college units or passing score on the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
  • Proof of High School Graduation (Diploma, Transcripts, or Equivalent)
