Key Responsibilities

Oversees, evaluates, and identifies cybersecurity events and incidents within IT systems and networks under general guidance. Aids in comprehensive, adaptive cyber defense, coordinating and managing security toolsets to bolster organizations' continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization initiatives. Establishes a framework for quantifying and assessing cyber risk in the marketplace. Identifies security requirements by analyzing business strategies and needs; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability assessments; examining architecture/platform; pinpointing integration challenges; and preparing cost projections.

Implements security frameworks by defining intrusion detection strategies and tools; directing the installation and calibration of equipment and software; preparing preventive and responsive measures; generating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; providing technical assistance; and completing documentation. Validates security frameworks by developing and executing test scripts. Upholds security by ensuring adherence to standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response evaluations; and developing and delivering training programs.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is highly preferred, which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience. A Master's degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience. A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a similar field will also be considered.
  • One of the following certifications is required:
    • AWS Certified Developer-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator-Associate
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD)
    • Elastic Certified Engineer
    • Elastic Certified Observability Engineer
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience in software development/engineering, encompassing requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in system engineering/architecture.
  • Ten (10) years of experience with products that cater to highly distributed, massively parallel computation requirements such as Hbase, Hadoop, Accumulo, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality, etc.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for software automation.
  • At least four (4) years of experience managing and monitoring extensive Cloud Systems.
  • Experience in providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complete hardware/software systems, including monitoring the technical health of a system, enhancing organizational processes, and implementing postmortem (failure) analysis and incident management.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is mandatory.
  • Required: ElasticSearch, AWS, and System Administration or DevOps experience. Key Skills and Experience include:
    • AWS Commercial Cloud experience
    • Elastic Experience (AWS cloud or other)
    • Puppet/SIMP experience
