Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our team at Kentucky Blood Center Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial support to the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and timely financial information to support business decisions.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor profile information and ledger account entries.
  • Process payroll and timekeeping, including biweekly processing and HRIS compensation data entry.
  • Maintain fixed asset purchase and disposal records and depreciation schedules.
  • Administer the corporate card program and support the CFO with financial statements and audits.
  • Comply with regulations pertaining to payroll and financial practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and contribute to the efficiency and continuous improvement of accounting department processes and services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related major.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar accounting background with appropriate combination of experience and education.
  • Advanced MS Office and Excel user with keyboarding/data entry proficiency and the ability to effectively navigate web applications and custom systems.
  • Applicable knowledge of accounting and payroll applications; ADP experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail, and confidentiality.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, fulfill basic clerical duties, and occasionally lift/carry up to 25 pounds without assistance.
