Job Summary

The General Office Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our store's front office. This position is responsible for greeting vendors, customers, and job applicants, and arranging for escort services as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the switchboard or telephone console to route incoming calls and coordinate the flow of product with vendors and stores.
Communicate completion dates for deliverables and work with carriers to avoid transit delays.
Schedule and coordinate efficient distribution of products to satisfy store demand, analyzing and revising shipment plans as required.
Work with other departments to ensure store satisfaction and accuracy of shipment records.

Additional Responsibilities

Assign product to trucks based on length and purpose of trip, freight requirements, and user preference.
Investigate overdue vehicles, confer with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
Compare and verify identifying information or shipping records on incoming or outgoing shipments with bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Prepare documentation for domestic or international shipments and maintain records accordingly.

Requirements

The General Office Associate must have the ability to use computer systems and knowledge of operational reports and procedures.
