Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

The Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and program management for level 1 site. This role provides regulatory expertise to ensure that all applicable regulations are known and implemented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for proactive improvements and drive action plans to completion.
- Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation and sustainability of the site's compliance programs and EHS management processes.
- Lead the efforts to create and deploy processes that identify, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace to comply with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
- Lead EHS investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions as needed for near miss, injury/illness, and environmental incidents.
- Manage regulatory recordkeeping, reporting, and case management activities.
- Provide and track training for all affected team members in relation to health, safety, and environmental policies, practices, and procedures.
- Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the defined value stream at level 1 facility.
- Lead efforts in managing all mandatory air, water, and waste compliance assurance-monitoring, inspection, and reporting activities at the facility.
- Ensure alignment of Southwire EHS policies and procedures.
- Serve as Emergency Response Coordinator for the facility, assisting with the coordination of emergency services and contractors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline or other applicable to the health, safety, and environmental fields.
- 9 years of experience working in industrial health, safety, and environmental activities.
- Working knowledge of various safety regulations or standards.
- Professional certification is desired.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours or shifts.
- Excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills.
