Job Summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations at our level 1 site. The successful candidate will provide regulatory expertise, plan and implement environmental, health, and safety activities, and assist in monitoring facility activities to ensure regulatory and company requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for proactive improvements and drive action plans to completion.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation and sustainability of compliance programs and EHS management processes.
  • Lead the efforts to create and deploy processes that identify, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace.
  • Lead EHS investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for near miss, injury/illness, and environmental incidents.
  • Manage regulatory recordkeeping, reporting, and case management activities.
  • Provide and track training for affected team members in health, safety, and environmental policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the defined value stream at level 1 facility.
  • Lead efforts in managing mandatory air, water, and waste compliance assurance-monitoring, inspection, and reporting activities.
  • Ensure alignment of Southwire EHS policies and procedures.
  • Serve as Emergency Response Coordinator for the facility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline or other applicable to the health, safety, and environmental fields.
  • 9 years of experience working in industrial health, safety, and environmental activities.
  • Working knowledge of various safety regulations or standards (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NEC, etc).
  • Professional certification is desired.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours or shifts.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills.
