Position Summary
The Sustainability Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the Environmental Affairs Manager in ensuring adherence to environmental laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
This job description does not limit management's authority to assign or reassign tasks and responsibilities at any time.
- Assist in the creation and execution of initiatives, protocols, or activities necessary for compliance with relevant laws and regulations concerning company operations, including the upkeep of the Compliance Tracker Program for regional facilities.
- Support the maintenance of documentation required to monitor environmental authorization reports, their expirations, and renewals.
- Collaborate with Plant Managers, General Managers, and Environmental, Health, and Safety Coordinators to develop programs and training that ensure a solid understanding of environmental compliance across the organization.
- Prepare, review, and approve environmental permit applications and renewals in a timely manner, including those submitted by others.
- Monitor and analyze changes in environmental laws and regulations at local, state, and federal levels, providing management with timely updates.
- Ensure that the company’s environmental management system accurately reflects the necessary permit terms and conditions.
- Engage in relevant environmental training sessions and seminars.
- Prepare and submit Tier II, TRI, GHG, and AEI Reports to state authorities and the EPA.
- Oversee the transition of paper records to electronic formats.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Alternatively, a minimum of 3+ years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Highly organized with excellent time management capabilities.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven and proactive.
- Able to collaborate effectively with all levels within the organization.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
- Occasionally lift items weighing up to 10 lbs.
- Spend extended periods seated at a desk in front of a computer.
- Frequently reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
- This position may involve up to 20-30% travel by car or plane, including overnight stays.
- Job responsibilities will be conducted in an office, industrial plant, and/or field environment, which may expose the individual to heat, aerosols, particulates, odors, and other hazards.
