Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to lead our food production team at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. As a key member of our Nutrition Services Management Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality food preparation and execution of service for our patients and retail food services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the food production team to achieve exceptional food quality and presentation.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of assistant sous chefs, cooks, and other kitchen personnel to ensure efficient food preparation and cooking.
  • Develop and implement new menu items and lead the training of food service staff in production, preparation, and garnishing techniques.
  • Requisition all food and food-related products and manage the sanitation plan to ensure compliance with HACCP and food codes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to initiate partnerships and drive business growth.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • 3 years of work experience in high-volume food service, with management experience preferred.
  • ServSafe or similar program certification required.
  • Desired experience working with HACCP principles and managing Classified Civil Service, Union, and Student staffs.
