Position Summary:

The role entails the installation of conduits and wiring for devices and controllers associated with Building Automation Systems. The technician must possess the ability to read and interpret Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) plans and specifications, as well as BAS Submittal Drawings. A valid driver's license is required, and candidates must meet the qualifications to operate a company vehicle.

Position Levels:

Level-1: This level requires consistent oversight during project installations. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory on-site and assisting Journeymen with the installation of electrical conduits, conductors, junction boxes, and Building Automation materials. A willingness to learn the company's standard processes and products is essential. (1-3 years of experience)

Level-2: This level necessitates minimal supervision during project installations. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory counts and supporting apprentices and Journeymen with installations. A solid understanding of the company's processes and the ability to troubleshoot system issues are required. Additional duties include assisting with point-to-point checkout and project documentation. (2-4 years of experience)

Level-3: This level requires independence in managing multiple project installations. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory and supporting apprentices with installations. A comprehensive understanding of the company's processes and troubleshooting capabilities is necessary. Additional responsibilities include performing point-to-point checkouts and thorough project documentation. A Journeyman's License in the State of Nebraska is mandatory. (4+ years of experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work safely and efficiently while performing job functions.
  • Ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain professional interactions with clients and contractors.
  • Coordinate with project managers and team leads to fulfill project requirements.
  • Assist team members as needed.
  • Install control wiring, components, and EMT conduits while interpreting electrical diagrams.
  • Read MEP plans and other construction documents.
  • Provide updates on project involvement.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting skills.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain an OSHA Safety Certificate.

Qualifications:

  • GED or high school diploma with at least one year of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Documented experience or training in various systems and controls is necessary.
  • Ability to work overtime, varied shifts, and occasional travel as required.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong computer skills are preferred for Level 3 but not mandatory for Levels 1-2.
  • Effective communication skills with clients, contractors, supervisors, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform various physical tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Work Schedule:

  • Standard 40-hour work week.
  • Typical 4/10 working schedule from Monday to Thursday.
  • Day shift with potential night shifts, overtime, and weekend work as needed.
  • Travel may be required.
