About the Role

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical, plumbing, and controls systems, as well as coordinating work with other trades and contractors to accomplish startup and commissioning tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical, plumbing, and controls systems to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Engineering Drawings: Read and understand engineering drawings, including wiring, architecture, and sequences, and suggest changes to meet field conditions.
  • Coordination and Communication: Coordinate work with other trades and contractors to ensure effective completion of startup and commissioning tasks.
  • Installation and Verification: Install control components, verify control-point wiring, and calibrate sensors to ensure system functionality.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues, determine corrective actions, and repair system components to ensure optimal system operation.
  • Software Analysis and Modification: Analyze and modify control software to ensure proper HVAC comfort and energy management control.
  • Commissioning and Training: Support commissioning activities, complete commissioning documentation, and provide site-specific training for owner/operators on the total building control system.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics on building automation systems and associated components according to service maintenance agreements.
Requirements
  • Experience: Three to five years of experience in facilities automation, building management systems, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, manage assigned workload, and program DDC software.
  • Education and Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or degrees in a related field preferred.
  • Background Check: Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation.
