Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of radiologic principles and theory, anatomy, and pathology processes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent.
  • Explain procedures to patients and families, addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Recognize clinical and emergent problems that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Correctly identify patients and their files, ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
  • Track patients according to department procedures and identify errors for immediate correction.
  • Maintain exposure readings within As Low As Reasonably Achievable limits.
  • Demonstrate effective use of radiation protection procedures and patient safety measures.
  • Report, document, and correct any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions.
  • Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean environment, ensuring rooms are stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Operate imaging and related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological changes and updates, participating in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Recent hospital experience as a Radiologist Technologist is preferred.
  • Participation in a JCERT-accredited school of radiology is required.
  • Successful completion of the Delaware Limited State Radiation License Exam is necessary.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to perform on-call, shift, vacation, and weekend duties are required.
Competencies and Skills
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members.
  • Able to withstand crisis situations.
  • Skills to provide customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health records.
Credentials
  • DE RADIATION - Delaware State Radiation license.
  • DE LICENSED - Licensed in the state of DE.
  • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification.
Education
  • Associates Degree in a related field.
