Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The successful candidate will have a strong background in artificial intelligence and machine learning, with a focus on the design of polymer materials.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant research experience. They will be expected to develop and direct a strong, funded research program, teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses, and participate in departmental and university faculty governance.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and directing a strong, funded research program in artificial intelligence and machine learning for the design of polymer materials
  • Teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses in materials science and engineering
  • Participating in departmental and university faculty governance
  • Contributing to the development of a diverse and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

  • A PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant research experience
  • A strong background in artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
