About the Role:

  • This is a leadership position that oversees the daily operations of the Laboratory Services Department.
  • The successful candidate will play a crucial part in maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of excellence within the department.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Manage day-to-day operations of the Laboratory Services Department, ensuring smooth workflow and effective utilization of resources.
  2. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders across various departments to enhance communication and operational effectiveness.
  3. Cultivate a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement among staff members.
  4. Resolve operational issues and support staff in addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
  5. Promote and ensure adherence to quality control, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standards.
  6. Collaborate with leadership in strategic planning, budget evaluation, and development.
  7. Oversee staffing schedules to meet operational needs and productivity goals.
  8. Lead and participate in departmental projects aimed at process improvement and operational excellence.
  9. Act as a liaison between Laboratory Services and other departments to optimize patient care and service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of five years in a fast-paced healthcare or business environment required, with previous leadership experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Licence/Certification: Current licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) strongly preferred.
