Laboratory Services Leadership Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Services Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Laboratory Services Department. This critical role plays a vital part in maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of excellence within the department.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Laboratory Services Department, ensuring smooth workflow and effective utilization of resources.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders across various departments to enhance communication and operational effectiveness.
  • Cultivate a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement among staff members.
  • Resolve operational issues and support staff in addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to quality control, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership in strategic planning, budget evaluation, and development.
  • Oversee staffing schedules to meet operational needs and productivity goals.
  • Lead and participate in departmental projects aimed at process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Act as a liaison between Laboratory Services and other departments to optimize patient care and service delivery.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of five years' experience in a fast-paced healthcare or business environment, preferably with previous leadership experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience in process management, LEAN development, budget oversight, and project management is highly advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate across departments.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in regulatory compliance and quality assurance practices.
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills to contribute to organizational goals.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
