Job Summary

The University of Alabama seeks a highly skilled Grant and Contract Specialist II to join its Sponsored Program Administration team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in reviewing and processing complex sponsored project proposals, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local government administrative requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and revise sponsored project proposed budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with faculty and staff to analyze sources of sponsored support and prepare applications and proposals
  • Provide pre-award and non-financial post-award administration of contracts and grants
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of grant and/or contract administration experience, or a master's degree
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications

Between three and five years of experience in grant and/or contract proposal preparation and sponsored agreement administration, with knowledge of accounting principles and budget development.
