Job Summary: The Grant and Contract Specialist II plays a critical role in the review and processing of complex sponsored project proposals at the University of Alabama. This position requires a high level of expertise in Federal, State, and Local government administrative requirements related to pre-award and post-award sponsored project activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews and revises sponsored project proposed budgets to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Develops and implements effective strategies for analyzing sources of sponsored support and preparing applications and proposals for sponsored funding.
- Provides expert guidance on pre-award and non-financial post-award administration of contracts and grants.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and two years of grant and/or contract administration experience, or a master's degree.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Between three and five years of experience in the preparation and processing of grant and/or contract proposals and sponsored agreement administration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and budget development.
