Job Title: Surgical Technologist - Cardiac Thoracic Transplant OR

UW Health University Hospital is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Cardiac Thoracic Transplant Operating Room. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients during surgery.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac, thoracic, and transplant surgery, with a minimum of 2 years of scrub experience. You will be responsible for preparing the Operating Room prior to surgery, promoting patient safety, and assisting the surgeon during procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the Operating Room for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Assist the surgeon during procedures, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Care for patients during surgery, managing instruments and supplies.
  • Function as a member of the surgical team, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
  • Possess knowledge and skills required to care for patients of all age groups.
  • May be required to float to different units within the organization, depending on staffing needs.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong background in cardiac, thoracic, and transplant surgery.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
