Embedded Counselor-Residential Well-being Program Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Professional to join our team in the Residential Well-being Program at Virginia Tech. As an Embedded Counselor, you will play a critical role in supporting the mental health and well-being of our students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling services to students, including assessment, treatment planning, and crisis intervention.
- Collaborate with Residential Well-being staff to provide outreach and consultation services to students living in the residence halls.
- Develop and implement educational programs and workshops to promote mental health and well-being among students.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to address student concerns and provide support services.
- Work closely with the Director of Residential Well-being and other counseling center staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Masters degree in clinical or counseling psychology or social work.
- Eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Supervised experience in a mental health setting.
- Experience working with underrepresented students and international students.
- Experience working in a college counseling center.
- Experience working with Housing/Residence Life.
- Experience with outreach and educational programming.
- Experience providing group psychotherapy.
- Experience with managing crisis situations, completing risk assessments, and disposition planning to address safety risks.
