Air Operations Training Specialist

Position Overview

The primary function of this role is to act as a communications and information technology (IT) specialist within the Air Operations Center (AOC), as well as to serve as an educator for the AOC Weapon System Formal Training Unit (FTU).

Eligibility

This position is open to various categories of applicants, including:
  • Career transition candidates
  • Current or former competitive service federal employees
  • Current excepted service federal employees
  • Military spouses
  • Veterans
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver advanced communication and IT training as a senior specialist/instructor.
  • Guide students through technical training on communication and IT management, focusing on relevant courses.
  • Develop and implement FTU course training related to IT or supported areas.
  • Assess and document student progress and performance throughout the training process.
  • Represent the organization in various meetings and activities related to functional areas.
Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Compliance with the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program is required.
  • Willingness to travel for training and meetings may be necessary.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours may be required.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess specialized experience in developing instructional materials and conducting training in IT and communications. A minimum of one year of experience at a comparable level is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Applicants should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of communications architecture, training program development, and instructional methodologies. Experience in curriculum development and instructional technology is highly desirable.

This role is essential for maintaining the operational readiness of the Air Operations Center and ensuring effective training delivery.
