Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Assistant with Clearance to join our team at the Air Force Special Operations Command. As a key member of our Pass and Registration Section, you will be responsible for processing various security-related documentation, including requests for Contractor Access Badges, Proximity Badges, identification credentials, and other documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process applications and issue identification cards, contract access badges, vehicle registration, and temporary passes to eligible personnel.
  • Receive and verify personal identification data against authorization documents, and prepare identification cards, badges, passes, vehicles permits, or other forms to authorized access.
  • Maintain control logs for identification cards and contractor access badges for maintenance and destruction of accountable forms in accordance with applicable AF instructions.
  • Carry out routine, miscellaneous clerical tasks, and perform clerical support duties to ensure efficient office operations.
  • Focus on responsive and accurate customer service within the Pass and Registration/Visitors Center environment.
Requirements
  • Must be registered for Selective Service.
  • May be required to perform vehicle scans using the Vehicle Scanning System for vehicles requesting entry into the installation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, guide others, and accomplish multiple ongoing projects.
Education and Experience

General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college, college, or university.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of mission, policy processes, procedures, and customer service goals sufficient to perform the routine, procedural work of the Pass and Registration Section.
  • Knowledge of general office clerical functions.
  • Knowledge of procedures, forms, and information required to verify against authorized documents, issue badges, passes, vehicle permits, or other forms of authorization.
  • Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to recognize, locate, and insert data/information; and produce a variety of documents and reports.
Working Conditions

This position may be designated mission essential based on local conditions. It may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Typing and computer operation are performed, however, a qualified typist is not required.
