Job Summary:

The State of Montana is seeking a skilled Electronics Inspector to join our team. As an Electronics Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our traffic data collection program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and perform design, layout, installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair activities related to the department's traffic data collection program.
  • Monitor and maintain complex interconnected data collection and communication systems to ensure continuous collection and transmission of traffic data.
  • Use methodical analysis and specialized diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate and direct district personnel, provide oversight of contractors, and ensure efficient communication and project completion.
  • Conduct ongoing research and development activities to ensure current and future needs of the statewide traffic data management program are met.

Requirements:

  • Work is typically performed in remote areas of the state under indirect supervision.
  • Reports to the Electronic Equipment Unit (EEU) Supervisor.
