Job Overview

Public Service Credit Union is in search of a dedicated and skilled professional to fill the role of Assistant Manager in our Credit Solutions department. This position entails supporting the Credit Solutions Manager in the administration of the department and ensuring seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective collection strategies aimed at minimizing delinquency, prioritizing accounts at risk, and enhancing recovery rates.
  • Ensure adherence to collection policies and procedures.
  • Assist in managing collection processes, including foreclosures, repossessions, and delinquency management.
  • Facilitate negotiations for payment arrangements and monitor compliance with payment schedules.
  • Evaluate extension requests and troubled debt restructurings, ensuring that loan modifications are fair and advantageous for both members and the credit union.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators related to collections.
  • Supervise the Credit Solutions team, providing necessary performance feedback, mentoring, and training.
  • Address member inquiries regarding their accounts and document relevant financial information and collection efforts.
  • Identify challenges and propose timely solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with legal partners concerning member accounts and bankruptcy matters.
  • Prepare monthly reports for review by the Board of Directors and Executive Team.
  • Train staff in effective collection methodologies and offer ongoing mentorship to ensure high performance and productivity.
  • Provide performance evaluations for Credit Solutions employees and administer disciplinary actions when required.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in collections and debt recovery technologies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in computer applications, including Office 365 SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Exemplifies the values of Public Service Credit Union and acts as a representative of our brand.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and results-driven work ethic.
  • Demonstrates financial responsibility, integrity, and strong work ethics.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and bankruptcy laws to ensure compliance and ethical practices.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Timely follow-up on accounts and deadlines.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Consistent attendance record.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in collections or a related field.
  • Education requirements may be waived with adequate related work experience.
