Job Summary

This is a full-time, tenure or non-tenure track faculty position. The selected candidate must be eligible for faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor level.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise 25 paid faculty Full-time and 5- Part-time at various FTE), 1 office manager and 6 administrative support personnel
  • Develop and implement strategies consistent with and in support of the DCG strategic plan and mission
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the pre-doctoral program, inclusive of its curriculum, clinical competencies, and the preparation of students for the CRDTS licensing board exam, with a minimum 95% pass rate in the restorative and prosthodontic portions of the exam
  • Establish and maintain effective and productive interactions with advanced dental education program directors and residents in Restorative Sciences and throughout the DCG
  • Provide quality patient care in the Augusta University Dental Associates faculty practice clinic
  • Participate in department research initiatives and preparation of manuscripts (at a rate of 0.75 articles per year for 10% effort) for publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • Maintain support for the department FOSTER (Faculty Opportunity Strategies Toward Effective Research) Program through advocacy, participation in, and funding for the program from department resources
  • Leading or serving on DCG and AU level committees and supporting other professional service opportunities that are appropriate for your role
Required Qualifications
  • DDS/DMD or foreign degree equivalent to a DDS/DMD
  • Applicants must be a graduate of an ADA-accredited dental school or an ADA-accredited advanced dental education training program (of at least 2 years in length) and have an active unrestricted license in another state or be eligible for licensure by the Georgia Board of Dentistry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience collaborating with senior administrative leaders in dental schools, universities, and leadership boards/councils for higher education, accrediting, and/or licensing agencies
  • At least 7 years of experience in dental education and 5 years of experience in a relevant administrative leadership role
Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.

Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
