Role Summary:

The Maintenance Carpenter Specialist is responsible for executing essential maintenance duties under guidance, utilizing hand tools and mechanized equipment. This position requires minimal oversight for standard tasks while more intricate assignments will necessitate additional direction. Work may be evaluated during or after completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install artwork, adjust door alignments, and address window issues (excluding glass repairs)
  • Troubleshoot hardware malfunctions and conduct minor woodworking tasks (e.g., furniture repairs)
  • Engage in basic mechanical troubleshooting
  • Assist in the repair of damaged fences
  • Perform other general maintenance tasks as required
Required Qualifications:
  • Fundamental handyman skills (cabinet making not necessary)
  • Ability to work independently on routine tasks
  • Openness to learning and adhering to instructions
Physical Demands:
  • Possess and maintain a valid California Non-commercial Class license
  • Capable of performing strenuous manual labor in varying weather conditions
  • Regularly stand and walk, with frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds
  • Occasionally kneel, crawl, bend, stoop, climb, and lift weights between 21-40 pounds
  • Maintain visual acuity, including color perception
Work Environment:
  • Willingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Appropriate uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory
  • Possible exposure to various hazards including radiation, electromagnetic fields, noise levels exceeding 80db, allergens, biohazards, chemicals, and asbestos
  • Work may be conducted in confined spaces, at heights, and under extreme temperature conditions
Work Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
  • Start Time: 6-7 AM (flexibility required)
  • End Time: 3-4 PM depending on start time
