The Lead Project Coordinator for Additive Manufacturing oversees projects related to New Product Innovation (NPI) in the realm of additive manufacturing technology.
This role reports directly to the Director of Project Management Office (PMO) and collaborates closely with the Orchid additive manufacturing team, as well as external customer teams, to strategize and implement projects aimed at expanding Orchid's additive manufacturing capabilities.
The position involves close collaboration with site leadership and entails leading large-scale multi-site programs, including the communication of project status to the executive leadership team.
This role is hybrid, requiring four days on-site at our Lansing facility, with occasional domestic travel.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs project teams to achieve objectives for complex projects that may involve multiple Orchid facilities.
Organizes and oversees project operations, including engineering design, procurement of subcontracts, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and project closure, utilizing Orchid's project management methodologies and tools.
Actively manages the development and preparation of business cases, cost/benefit analyses, and project budgets.Identifies and negotiates schedules, milestones, and resources necessary to meet project goals; prioritizes tasks based on capacity, deadlines, and critical paths.
Engages key stakeholders and fosters their active participation; maintains relationships within multi-functional teams.
Ensures clarity of scope and manages changes, communications, issues, and risks to achieve project objectives.
Monitors and evaluates key project deliverables; reports progress in terms of quality, financial performance, and metrics to relevant stakeholders and committees.
Understands the roles and responsibilities of all project team members; coordinates problem resolution and provides direction, leadership, and training to project team participants.
Generally has high demands for managerial duties and responsibilities.
Monitors project financial performance to ensure quality, delivery, and service within the proposed budget.
Develops extensive project management controls for complex projects.
Provides performance feedback to the manager of each project team participant.
Acts as the customer's point of contact, facilitating communication between the customer and the project team to ensure complete satisfaction.
Contributes to the continuous improvement of the project management process and organizational learning.
Supports quality and compliance by adhering to all Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements, ensuring documentation meets/exceeds Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for quality in safety, compliance, Six Sigma quality, on-time delivery, and financial objectives.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree (Required)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of project leadership experience, including 1-2 years managing complex projects (Required)
4+ years of manufacturing experience (Preferred)
Project management experience (Preferred)
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
10% travel may be required.
CERTIFICATIONS
Project Management Professional (PMP) - Practice Management Institute (PMI) (Preferred)
