Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Distribution Field Technician to join our Power Distribution Engineering team in Nashville, Tennessee. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing visual inspections of overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities and equipment, compiling field data, and preparing maintenance reports.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspections of overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Compile field data and prepare reports to document findings and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in the acquisition of field data and gather information from field notes to support project deliverables.
  • Follow the company's Code of Safe Practices and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and external clients to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Prepare and submit required reports and correspondence to stakeholders.
  • Design and prepare construction orders related to overhead and underground facilities associated with electric distribution systems, applying prescribed standards, guides, specifications, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) or utility experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of computers and software applications, particularly MS Office products, is desired.
  • Clean and valid driver's license is required.
  • Travel is expected for at least 75% of working hours, with additional travel to other TRC territories and surrounding utility territories possible.

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the salary range for this position is $23.00 per hour, with compensation varying based on experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
