Job Description

The United Nations is seeking a highly skilled Programme Management Officer to join its International Tax and Development Cooperation Branch. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the organization's efforts in advancing policy and action on financing for sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programme Development and Implementation: Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects, including monitoring and analyzing programme/project development and implementation.
  • Policy Analysis and Research: Contribute to the provision of substantive support to policy analysis, research, and development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends, to the preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies.
  • Capacity Development and Training: Assist in the design and delivery of training workshops, seminars, and other capacity development initiatives in the area of tax and domestic resource mobilization for sustainable development.
  • Communication and Outreach: Prepare various written outputs, including draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, and other documents. Provide substantive support to consultative and other meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Field Missions and Reporting: Participate in or lead field missions, including provision of guidance to external consultants, government officials, and other parties, and drafting mission summaries and reports.
  • Financial Management and Budgeting: Coordinate activities related to budget and funding, including programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, and other related documents.
Requirements
  • Education: Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in business administration, management, economics, or a related field is required.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration, or a related area is required.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
