This position is located in the Department of Peace Operations, Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions, Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Section (DDR).
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and evaluate DDR processes within 2-3 missions.
- Monitor and analyze programme/project development and implementation.
- Review relevant documents and reports, identify problems, and propose corrective actions.
- Liaise with relevant parties and track follow-up actions.
- Research, analyze, and present information gathered from diverse sources.
- Advise on DDR functional strategies and concept of operations.
- Assist in policy development and review of issues and trends.
- Undertake survey and data collection initiatives.
- Prepare various written outputs, including draft background papers and reports.
- Provide substantive and logistical support to consultative meetings and conferences.
- Conduct outreach activities, training workshops, and seminars.
- Participate in or lead field missions to support or assess DDR programmes.
- Advanced university degree in political science, international relations, law, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in programme/project management or a related field in international settings.
- Experience working in a large multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team and coordinating with multiple partner agencies.
- Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of French is desirable.
- Professionalism: Knowledge of theories, concepts, and approaches relevant to disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration.
- Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and effectively, and demonstrates openness in sharing information.
- Planning and Organizing: Develops clear goals, identifies priority activities, and allocates resources efficiently.
