Position Overview

Summary

We are in search of a compassionate and enthusiastic paraprofessional to assist in a preschool setting, focusing on the support of one to two designated children. The working hours are from 7:30 AM to 4 PM. The ideal candidate should possess a genuine passion for engaging with young learners, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit to thrive in a team-oriented atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist during instructional periods, projects, group activities, or free play with the designated preschooler.
  • Facilitate communication development by utilizing visual aids and/or AAC devices for the identified child.
  • Provide behavioral guidance through positive reinforcement and appropriate responses to challenging behaviors.
  • Offer physical and medical assistance as necessary during transitions, including outdoor preparation, restroom support, and mealtime assistance.
  • Maintain a respectful and cooperative relationship with the special education team, educators, and families.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and relevant childcare regulations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience and enthusiasm for working with young children facing behavioral challenges.
  • Familiarity with data collection, IEP implementation, and behavior management plans.
  • Ability to contribute positively within a collaborative team.
  • Understanding of child development principles.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and health evaluation.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children on the Autism Spectrum.
  • Possession of NH Paraeducator I or II certification.
  • Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Completion of coursework in Early Childhood Education with a focus on child growth and development.
