About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Instructional Aide to join our team at Ombudsman Educational Services. As an Instructional Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support: Provide individualized supervision and instruction to assigned students, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assist classroom teachers in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, where students feel safe and valued.
  • Instructional Strategies: Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to assist students with learning and help them meet academic requirements.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and record student progress, communicating regularly with classroom teachers and parents to ensure students receive the support they need.
  • Behavior Management: Manage student behavior in the classroom, upholding the ChanceLight philosophy and policies, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Counseling and Support: Provide counseling and support to students with academic and personal issues, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and support.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills test.
  • Certification: Active Paraprofessional and/or PPS Certification preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children, preferably in an education and/or classroom setting.
  • Skills: Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply concepts of basic math, working knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
