Surgical Technologist Level II

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist Level II to join our team in Irvine, California.
Job Summary:Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, the Surgical Technologist Level II will assist in surgical procedures by performing scrub duties, maintaining a safe environment, and adhering to established standards of care.
Responsibilities:- Assist physicians during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties, including passing instruments, cutting sutures, and holding retractors.
- Maintain a safe and organized environment, ensuring all equipment and supplies are available and in working order.
- Transport patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the medical center, utilizing proper body mechanics.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement activities, including planning, measuring, and assessing.
- Assist with transfer, transport, and stabilization of patients within the scope of competency.
- Clean and sterilize instruments, containers, and equipment according to established guidelines.
- Operate sterilization equipment and report defective equipment upon discovery.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
- Two years of experience in operating room scrubbing or equivalent military experience, including a variety of surgical procedures.
- Graduate of an approved surgical technologist or military equivalent program.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing Certificate - Technologist in Surgery.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Experience requirements may be waived or modified when an appropriate program or course is available and successfully completed.
- Maintains required certifications as applicable.
- Communicates in a clear, concise manner appropriate to the development stage of the patient.
